Home School New Zealand Style

Thursday Taite (Tie-te). We did our own version of school. Anna worked on the site words of the colors for the 4 younger girls. She is a great teacher.
Mauri colors
Blue - Kahurangi (Car-who-rung-ee)
Red - Whero (Fair-raw)
Brown - Paraone (Pa-rah-or-ne)
Black - Pango (Pung-or)
White - Ma (Maa)
Green - Kakariki (Car-car-ree-kee)

Then we learned aero dynamics by racing McDonald toys down ramps. They were skateboarding Strawberry Shortcake dolls. Matt was the teacher and Dani was the judge.

Eric took Matt and Dani fishing on the beach by their house. In one of the pictures, you can see the red arrow in the upper left. This is the Reynold's house. To the left of the red one.

They didn't catch anything and came home kind of wet from the waves. Those poles are huge.

Then off to the Wellington Zoo. A beautiful zoo nestled in the hills over looking Wellington. We saw a live Kiwi, but couldn't film it. They are scared of the flash. A very soft bird with huge claws. This one had one leg because it was caught in a bear trap. Rescued by the zoo. They have 4 Kiwis at the zoo. We took a picture by the huge Kiwi. We saw a lot of Australian and African animals. They walked the Cheetahs on a lease and we got to see the feeding. Cool. The animals are close up, not like at the MN zoo. The Kanga had a Joey in the pouch. Then Anna dropped me off at the Warehouse to buy Dani some shoes. (Like a Costco) Grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner. Kids to bed by 8:00.
.
Today is Good Friday, a holiday. We are heading off to the Salvation Army for crafts with the kids. See you tomorrow. Love Gail

Gail says,we have plenty of the quit licking that hand rail, quit picking your nose too. That is just kids... They like to do those kind of things that make us cringe. We also have a lot of whining going on. Anna and I are going to run away. She is trying to get Athea to nap right now.

Great blogging and photos Gail! Sounds and looks like you are having so much fun and making great memories for the kids! Anna, you look like a natural teacher. I am right there with Vashti and feel successful at the end of the day if no blood has been shed.

Hope you had fun at the Salvation Army Craft thingee!

From D'Eon Kwan Rhiversonville - we are definitely of the no lick the fish (Koi pond in backyard far too much of a draw) and no blood camp with this giant crew:)

Look at those Reynoldzes girlz tights. Mhari is in tights envy.

Is this the best trip ever, or what?

Living vicariously,

Robin, Ken, Casey, Ange and crew

We sure do love the blog and sure do miss you guys but the blog helps. Have a Happy Easter.

Love Dad & Mom (Grama D & Grampa Ted)
