July 4th Holiday Weekend Extravaganza!

Choteau Montana - 4th of July 2008!

^ Walking to the parade in our Red, White and Blue digs.

^ Waving the flag = American spirit and lots of parade CANDY!
^ Papa on the band float playing the cymbals!

^ Cousin Logan's John Henry's Float that we helped decorate. Eating at John Henry's after the parade. (John Henry's is a great family restaurant owned by cousin Stacey and family.) Stop by anytime you are travelling though Choteau, MT.
^ Merry on the Merry-go-round.

^ Another big hike. Haidyn wanted to mountain climb "without using trails". So we went straight up a gorge in the North Fork valley of the Teton river in the Rocky Mountains just west of Choteau. "Worst hike ever" she proclaimed at the end. But we got some cool fossils.

^ The kids posing in front the the T-REX at the Museum of the Rockies. Haidyn sitting on the Dragon Tree.

^ Fun with Grandma Olga and family at the nursing home.

We leave for Minnesota today at 2:00. We are really excited to see our Minnesota family and friends but we are really going to miss our Bozeman family. We have had a really great time with each other!

Awwww Summer!

Here are the cousins hanging out on the steps. ^

A little baseball in the backyard. ^

^Haidyn and Grandma Jo at Great Grandma Olga's Nursing home. Grandma Jo has been stepping in as Haidyn's teacher while she is away from NZ school. They have class everyday. Haidyn sure does love her summer school teacher. :)

^ Haidyn is learning about recycling at school in New Zealand, so we took her to a real live landfill site to show her where garbage actually goes. Let me tell you, there were a lot of plastic bottles laying around this stinky sad place.. so think twice and recycle.. I know we are.

^ We spent 2 nights at a cabin near Phillipsburg Montana. We had beautiful weather and a great time.

^ A river runs through it... the girls got a chance to try out some trout fishing while camping.
No luck.. but Haidyn did have a big fish jump out of the water in front of her..

^ On the way back to Bozeman from our camping trip, we stopped off at the Lewis and Clark Caverns and hiked through some pretty awesome caves..
