Time sure does fly...
Hi everyone!! This is Athea's cat a month later... and much much more.... I tried to get you updated on what has been going on in our lives since our last post! Beware and enjoy... it is a long one. =)

March Happy Easter Weekend!
Before Easter on Good Friday we painted wooden easter eggs, we do not have white eggs here in NZ so dying with egg dye does not work.
That night we went over to dinner at Duncan and Miranda's house. It was great fun! Only, Haidyn ate a whole chocolate Easter Bunny and later that night she ended up getting sick, sick, sick...
Saturday morning Haidyn was still sick.. so she had to miss a dinner at Mike, Luca, Piper and Kelly's.
Eric and Athea went to dinner and were treated to a fabulous Turkey with key lime pie for dessert. They had a blast! Athea loves to play with Luca. Haidyn just deemed life "unfair". (Mommy thought so too =)
Easter Sunday, Haidyn was 150% better. The Easter Bunny came and left eggs all over our back yard.
We had a fabulous Easter "potluck" type brunch at Justine, Nick, Wiley and Piper's house.
Our friend Sarah brought really cool Easter eggs/treats for the kids to hide and find. (I brought vege's)

(pictures are compliments of Mike)
Anyway it was really fun! What a great way to spend Easter!
Only later that night, we invited Eric's work-mate Todd over for dinner. Todd recently started at Weta. He used to work with Eric at Tippett.
Later after dinner, Thankfully just after Todd went home... I came down with the tummy bug... 3 hours later Athea came down with the tummy bug..... 6 hours later.... Eric came down with the tummy bug.... (We are guessing now that the chocolate bunny was not the culprit for getting Haidyn sick)
Now we found out that Kelly, Mike and Luca all came down with the tummy bug. (this is where Athea and Eric had dinner on Saturday) Oh dear..... leave it up to the NZ Reynolds' to share the Easter Buggy wealth.. =) (wink wink Kevin and Kate =)

Below is one of the games I was in charge of... "Sticks in the Sand" 3 sticks for a dollar... winner everytime. (Athea is the one with the hat on, she is disguised as a kitty cat, thanks to the face painting stall =)
The fair was a big success, the school managed to raise $60,000 (yep 60K) in one day... not too bad. (my games and rides accounted for $1,700 of that total)

For a project, Eric helped all the party goers make mosaics using left over tile stuff from our bathroom project. Our goal this year was to re-use and keep as much new stuff out of the big "plastic vortex" that is now floating around in the pacific ocean. (for more information Google plastic vortex) With the parent help of Ian and Alison.. these master pieces were created.

March 16 - The Seatoun School Fair (pictures compliments of my friend Sarah)
Most of the beginning of March energy was spent helping to organize Haidyn's Seatoun School Fair. I was approached and asked if I wanted to help on the outside games last fall. The next thing I know, I am one of the "Team Leads" of the outside games. I swear I must have "SUCKER" written on my face. =) "Outside games" consisted of all the typical fair type things like rides and "carnie type" games.
The Fairs here are amazing... In just 4 hours and on one day... they manage to have a bake sale (Since I am a bad baker, I made and donated the marshmellow kabobs above), fair, book sale, rummage sale, food fair, beer, silent auction, craft sale, toy sale, plant sale etc..
Below is one of the games I was in charge of... "Sticks in the Sand" 3 sticks for a dollar... winner everytime. (Athea is the one with the hat on, she is disguised as a kitty cat, thanks to the face painting stall =)
March - Dress up with Athea and her mates Piper and Juliette.
Athea and her little pals love to get together and dress up and dance. Here they are putting on a show for us one afternoon.
Dancing Batgirl Athea, the beautiful white princess Piper and the pretty pink princess Juliette.

March! Riding with Daddy to School.
Eric has been taking Athea to school on his bike every morning. We have had GREAT weather and it has been a fun thing that they have been doing each morning. At first Athea was pretty nervous to be on the back of her Dad's bike.. but she soon got the hang of it. Now she races to get ready in the morning when she knows it is a bike day. Fun Stuff!!

February BOAT Spotting...
The Queen Elizabeth cruise ship left the Wellington port and it was a frenzy out in front of our house.
The Queen Elizabeth cruise ship left the Wellington port and it was a frenzy out in front of our house.
We were amazed by all the "boat spotters" that came out to see this enormous cruise boat.
We bid it bon voyage along with our friends, Marijana, Sinisa, Dimitrije, Danilo and of course Lenka. Nicola, Ian, Emily and Juliette were going to come over too... but they got stuck in the traffic jam that led to our house. It was bumper to bumper chalker full of cars... It was pretty crazy.
That is what we do here for fun.. =)
We had Haidyn's birthday at the local Kindergarten. It was a great day and we were really busy having fun! (Boy birthday parties are a lot of work for parents.. well mostly Moms =)..

February School Starts!- A classroom with a view...
Haidyn started school in February. She is now in year 3 (which is close to being in grade 2 in the States) She was seated with her desk facing toward the window.
She would come home and report. "Mom, everyday there is a man that walks across the field with flippers on his way to the sea." I was not surprised to find that her desk had quickly been moved...
To face away from the window and toward class. =)
This is Haidyn's art classroom. She takes art afterschool on Friday at a studio close to our house and is also taking Yoga on Thursdays. These are the things she really loves to do.
That is the end! Love you guys!! Thanks for reading.. =)
